Musings about Tradition in the Catholic Church in England and Wales, and an attempt to collect essays and articles which would appear in a Catholic press which exercised critical solidarity with the Hierarchy.
Happy Christmas to you and your family. I've just opened a parcel containing a (new, for the 1962 rite) missal that includes supplements for England and Wales and the individual dioceses, and am having a look around. St Wilfrid is marked as 'Minor Principal Patron of the Dioceses of Leeds and Middlesbrough'. Is 'Minor Principal Patron' what elsewhere might be called 'Secondary Patron'? as e.g. Ste Jeanne d'Arc is called of France? Perhaps there is some rubrical reason for maintaining St Wilfrid's status as principal even if he's not quite... major. Cold, wet, grey: the Willamette Valley in winter. Best wishes in Christmastide!
