1 comment:
And if we, fictitiously, add modern feasts:
3. St. Pius X, double, Com. of the Sunday, Vespers of him.
Nott: In the Chapter & city: Of the Octave. Vespers in any case of St. Joseph Calasanctius, at least from the chapter, as said.
H&N. Vespers of St. Cuthbert, Communion of St. Pius and the Sunday.
M&N. Vespers as said.
Birmingham: Add a commemoration of St. Margaret at second vespers.
4. As said.
Birmingham: St. Margaret, widow (10 June), semidouble. After all, the vigil of St. Lawrence is not free for her when it's the feast of St. Theresia Benedicta.
5. St. Teresa of Calcutta, double, Com. of St. Lawrence Justiniani (who I guess would not be transferred to some other date[*]).
6. Feria.
H&N St. Augustine (fixed date).
Nottingham (Chapter & City) St. Pius X (fixed date).
7. Votive Office of the Blessed Sacrament.
H&N St. Bernard (transferred feast).
8., 9. As said.
[* On the grounds "let's have some normal confessor bishop outsite Eastertide on the calendar as a semidouble", St. John XXIII's choice of St. Gregorio Barbarigo sounds surprisingly fine at a second glance. I admit that he was, for a considerable time, my mental "obvious example" for "I venerate this man as a saint, but I really do not understand how he gets a third-class feast; Popes, even good and lovable Popes, should not make a habit of adding their personal favorites to the worldwide calendar"... But we sometimes have to eat our words, including the mental words, don't we? In my case, what contributed to that was looking up online the Divine Office with both Vespers for a patron who was a confessor bishop and finding that, despite the apparent multitude of bishops on the Calendar, this is rather difficult if you can only insert dates and have no access to "Commune" sections...)
