Not really germane to the Faith, Easter, dolour/sorrows, but I was struck :
what a gem of an inconsequential sentence, what rhythm, and how it rolls off the tongue!:"The priests are also responsible for Camberwell Workhouse, Camberwell Lunatic Asylum, and the Victuallers’ Asylum on Old Kent-road."
ps even less germane
Blunham village has an licenced victuallers benevelent etc estate built late sixties of low easy bungalows txixt two pubs for retired pubkeepers, typically couples, in presumably slightly reduced circumstances.Excellent neighbours, many have hobbled the few yards to either pub soon after opening time many days of the week.
