At the end of the entry on the 15th July it is easy to miss the symbol that appears to be a hybrid between a raised circle and an asterisk. That indicates that the hymn at Saturday Vespers (and the hymns, of Iambic metre, the following day) have a special Doxology. As it is a feast of the BVM Jesu, tibi sit gloria etc.

Thanks, Rubricarius. Although I'm doing a 'Parish Ordo', meaning that I only include Sunday Vespers, I would have missed the significance of the symbol as it isn't included in the abbreviations.

You are welcome Ttony. Ordines in the 'good old days' did tend to be prolix and were compiled with the presumption the reader was familiar with the rite and just needed an aide-memoir on the odd detail.

I recall discussing this with the late, and great, Arthur Crumly. Arthur was keen on there being far more detail while my view tends towards preserving the appearance of ordines as they were with a little compromise. The SLP ordo used to have a similar symbol for Doxologies but changed it to the self-evident 'Dox' (with the first words of the text).
