You’re St. Melito of Sardis! You have a great love of history and liturgy. You’re attached to the traditions of the ancients, yet you recognize that the old world — great as it was — is passing away. You are loyal to the customs of your family, though you do not hesitate to call family members to account for their sins. Find out which Church Father you are at The Way of the Fathers! |

I follow St Melito of Sardis
Another hat tip to Jeffrey for finding this quiz: which Church Father are you? (I think I may have to rethink some of my answers!)

I am Melito of Sardis!!
So am I !!!
To my unending shame I knew nothing about him. Some snippets from the Catholic Encyclopedia:
- Bishop of Sardis, prominent ecclesiastical writer in the latter half of the second century. Few details of his life are known.
- Of Melito's numerous works almost all have perished, fortunately, Eusebius has preserved the names of the majority and given a few extracts
- Melito's feast is observed on 1 April.
Oh, and he is referred to as "Melito the Eunuch" (although this was softened by Rufinus to "Melito the Virgin").
I'm St Justin Martyr!
