Interesting Statistics

.
The new Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, Cardinal Antonio Cañizares Llovera, was, until recently, Archbishop of Toldeo.

Toledo has a poulation of 700,000 people. It has 78 seminarians. 16 priests were ordained last year. 71 were ordained between 2002 and 2007.

Does anybody else get the idea that he knows what he's doing? And that the Pope knows what he's doing?

H/t to La Cigüeña De La Torre whose figures about other Spanish Dioceses are worth thinking about.

Congratulations to Toledo.
Whilst not being able to match that number, there are dioceses in Australia which are doing far better then any in England.
Perth has 22 Seminarians.
Sydney has 49.
Melbourne also has 49.
Wagga Wagga also has 22.
And in each of the above, new Seminarians exceed more than 10.
Oh, also Perth has 29 and Sydney has 30 in the Redemptoris Mater Seminaries belonging to the Neo-Catechumenates. Yes, there are two Seminaries in Perth and in Sydney.
