So, if there is any question about whether or not Caritas' activities are a responsibility of the Bishops' Conference or not, just look at their e-mail address.
And CAFOD, unsurprisingly to me at least, gets drawn in as well. Not that CAFOD and Caritas are singing off the same hymn sheet, you understand: it's just that if you want to know what Caritas thinks, while it's off the air, then CAFOD's the place to go.
This stinks: it stinks to high heaven, indeed, to High Heaven. A follow-up letter to Cardinal Re seems in order.

Correct me if I am wrong. But I swear I saw in a Catholic Newspaper over here that the Pope had appointed a Woman from Caritas in the UK to head up Caritas International. She would probally be Orthodox right? I cant remember her name
I've sent messages to the CDF and a couple of bishops. No reply as yet-and I don't expect to get one.
I note that the Catholic Herald this week was guest edited by a bishop who tried to play down the book problem.
I have a renewed respect for Damian Thompson.
don't bother trying the tel number - I spent a whole two days trying to contact Phil Cullen to no avail. Seems she went into hiding after all the hassle, well, either that or they aren't exactly as 'hands on' as they imply and are more jaw jaw than war war on catholic action......
Letters writen to His Lordship and the relevant Roman authorities. How do you like them apples, bishop?
