‡ The priest is to wear a violet chasuble (the deacon and
subdeacon folded chasubles, all wearing maniples) during the reading of the
Prophecies. The candle is not lit. Mainples are removed when the priest puts on
a violet cope takes the candle to bless the font. The Litanies are sung and
solemn Mass follows (the priest and ministers change to red vestments) without
the Introit. During the Gloria bells are rung and the organ is played. Lights
are not carried at the Gospel.
