Our Lady isn't the Patroness of England, and wasn't pre-Reformation. Our Lady of Ransom (Mercy) only became a feast of the universal Church in 1696 (see https://web.archive.org/web/20160304091611/http://www.guild-ransom.co.uk/index.html).

Interesting. I had concluded she was from the title "dowry of Mary", and also that that was connected to her feast at Walsingham which occurs on the same day but, if I am rightly informed, is different from that under her title "of Ransom" (that is, Patroness of the Order of Mercedarian Knights). Thanks for the answer.
